The other outcome for the future creates a little bit more interesting me. In this future I suspect that after we terra-form Mars the poorer class of people are going to seek this as an opportunity to have a revolution. They will be sick of Earth and what the powerful have done to it so they will leave the basically destroyed, corrupt, and natural-energy-exhausted Earth and leave for Mars. Here they will set up a new and simple society. Gardening and growing crops, music, simplicity, minimalism, and family will be major aspects of this new culture. On Earth people would have small families because of over-population but the Terra-Formed Mars colonies will have large families. There will still be advanced technology but it will not be so consumer and entertainment based as it is now. Technology will focus on crops and medicine. So people won't have technology built around themselves and their clothes as they once did on Earth. They will wear very simple, natural, rugged, and purposeful clothes. Music will also be an important aspect in this culture because I feel like music has played a huge part in the cultural changes in our country the past hundred years, so it will be an important catalyst for the revolution, and then therefore important to the new people's of Mars. Anyways, here is me in 50 years in this culture:
Even at the age of 70 I will still be working in the fields because with advancements in medical technologies the average human life has been roughly doubled. I'm fit as a whistle, and have an abundant family, with grand-children and even great-grand-children. I'll have a sweet beard because I figure if I start now I'll get there someday... I also have a shovel for gardening because my children work the fields and I mostly focus on gardening and fixing things that need fixing. I'll also almost always have my guitar for playing music whenever the time calls for it. It's safe to say I'm a much happier guy in this reality than I am in the other.
